Sampsa Holopainen, MAFUN President
Dear makers of the Uralistica website,
I am delighted to offer my warmest congratulations on the 7th anniversary of your excellent news portal. It is remarkable that you have had the energy to keep the site running for 7 years already, and I hope that Uralistica will thrive for many years to come.
As is well known, many of the Uralic languages are not doing that well in today's world, and the future is not secured neither. So it is important that the Uralic activists and organizations have a way to get their voice heard in the internet, and that there are people who are willing to write about the current issues of the Finno-Ugric world.
It is also important that Uralistica works as a social network for people who are interested in Uralic activism, Uralic studies and minority language issues. I have to admit that I haven't been too active in Uralistica networks lately, but I definitely think that it is great to have them and I recommend people to use the possibilities that Uralistica offers.
As the current chairman of MAFUN, the Youth Associaton of the Finno-Ugric peoples, I am grateful for the Uralistica portal for always being interested in the issues of our association and its member organizations, and for giving place for MAFUN news and issues in Uralistica. I hope that the cooperation between us will continue in the future and also become more intensive from the side of MAFUN.
All the best,
Vice Chair, United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII)
I wish to congratulate the hard-working and dedicated team of URALISTICA on the 7th anniversary of what is the most important and independent Finno-Ugric social network and media channel today. This is a particularly remarkable accomplishment given that URALISTICA team works in voluntary capacity as true civic activists.
I am looking forward to many more years of good journalism, analysis and discussion from URALISTICA!
